pixel39Apparently if you take a full, unopened bottle of Vanilla Coke , and leave it in the front seat of your truck for two and a half weeks in below-freezing temperatures, although it may freeze solid into a Cokesicle if you wait until it has thawed it will still be carbonated when you open it. I think this is because there is no additional airspace for the carbonation to escape into, kind of the opposite of when you leave a half-full bottle of Dr. Pepper in your truck over a weekend in ND where the temps are reliably below 0 and when it thaws out it is flat.
And, I have achieved something on my to-do list! Yay! I have had important body measurements taken by a disinterested third party and I have called the bridal shop to order my MoH dress. The measurements are smaller than I thought they'd be--actual proof that I am really losing weight. Yay! Woohoo! Yippee! Sad news for those who were hoping I'd stay impressively buxom, though.
I have started playing with a period edge-finishing technique where you do a narrow card-woven band directly onto the raw edge of the fabric, enclosing it. My inch or so of trial went splendiferously, now I need to do more playing with warp-weighting and stuff. Whee!
On the downside, black-eyed susans, mums, asters, and dahlias, all fall flowers, all look pretty much the same. Feh. Sibling wants to do fall flowers for her wedding, which is fine (although I think I might sneak late summer in there, because it's *technically* the end of August), but, if I am going to do sugar flowers for her cake I would like a *little* variation. Plus, her favorite flowers are lilies of the valley, which are spring flowers.
Hmmm. Must ponder this.
