chick-pea curry

oil
1 lg onion, sliced thin in wedges
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 tsp turmeric
1/4 tsp cayenne
1 tsp salt
1 T cumin
1 T coriander
2 cans chick peas, rinsed and drained
1 can diced tomatoes
1 t garam masala
saute onions and garlic in oil until soft, add spices up to coriander. cook and stir a few minutes. add chick peas and tomatoes and a little water. cook covered on med heat for 20 minutes. stir. add garam masala. cook 10 more minutes, uncovered if too much liquid. serve with paratha.
