Yesterday I stabbed myself in the tip of my left index finger with a paring knife. I thought I'd stopped the bleeding until I looked down and my keyboard was bloody... When will I learn?
Today it's not my fault, a blower motor in the A/C system overheated, and there is residual smoke drifting around making my eyes unhappy. But, there was pizza for lunch because we are cool and awesome and productive, so I shouldn't complain too much. :-)
I had no pithy thoughts while driving in to work this morning, because I still have "Mack the Knife" stuck in my head, not to mention "Denmark, 1943". I have absolutely no clue how the latter got there (and it's been there for most of the week), the former I lay directly at the feet of the host on the WCAL afternoon/evening drivetime show for his antics on Wednesday. Specifically, he played a recording of Bertolt Brecht singing it in German. The contrast between it and, say, Bobby Darin, is really amazing. But the song is still stuck in my head!
Gah.
The work of finding the best deal for refinancing continues, and also the work of finding the best home equity loan/line of credit. Fun, thrills, and really wild things. Tonight, more scribal. Maybe even calligraphy, and then I can paint. Although I actually prefer to do it the other way, possibly because I spent enough time working on blanks that I've gotten good at fixing my f*uck-ups.
And tomorrow, early dinner with Envoy. Ought to prove interesting. :-)
