The cleaning fairy came, and now the living room looks much less like two cats have been fighting in it for an extended period of time. The dining room/library swap is still in progress, hopefully that will happen this week after work and this weekend while The Spouse is in parts west being heraldy. Taxes will be done. Late holiday presents will be shipped. Cookies will be baked. Ok, I said that last week, too, and the cream cheese is still in the fridge. But there is hope, this time! I won't sleep until noon both days, this weekend! I promise! No, honestly! Really and for true!

The rant today on Tomato Nation is about Beverly Hills 90210. I am proud to say that I have never once watched an episode of this show. So I have no idea what she is talking about, even though her rant is amusing anyway. I categorically refuse to watch anything that involves the horse-faced blonde, for starters, and for finishers, it was a stupid show. Or so I am told. Am I allowed to feel smug now? Or does it just make up for having inadvertently watched three episodes of The Brady Bunch in my youth?

I do not, as a general rule, watch television. Not, as some would have it, so I can lord it over the TV-addicted masses in a bizzare sort of book-crazed intellectual snobbery (I will admit I am an intellectual snob, but not because I don't watch television), but because I really don't have a whole lot of interest in what's showing. And because it is warmer not to watch television. And because the basement is Mikey's room. And because when I am down in the basement for an extended period of time, if I am not checking email I am most likely at my drafting table, and if a least-optimal time for watching TV could be decided upon, "while working on scribal pursuits" would be high up on the list. And because my sewing room is upstairs.

Went to scribal last night, and was reminded why I have a tote bag full of books of examplars in the first place--if I'd remembered to bring it, I would have been saved much hemming and hawing and attempts at purple. Or maybe just the hemming and hawing part. But, there is a blank that is more finished, and a new one started, and thus I have been productive. Go me!

Now there needs to be counter space in the kitchen, and a table in the dining nook (instead of in the library/office, where it currently resides) and many things destined for goodwill in the back of the truck.
