I achieved half (or thereabouts) of my gardening goals for the weekend. I bought little greenhouse kits so I can get seeds started. I started some seeds. I have to buy more seeds so I can fill out the rest of the second tray, though. :-) I priced planters (of the nifty wooden variety, not the crappy plastic variety). I priced dirt. I priced mulch, and pansies. I priced roses, and was terribly dismayed to find that Menards had already sold out of the cheap roses they had at the beginning of the month. I got much leftover autumn and winter detritus dealt with and thrown out and stuff. I got weld and beets planted. Really cool looking beets with alternating red and white layers. Striped beets! I got nasturtiums planted. I figure that about July my neighbor will want to kill me about the nasturtiums, but I figure I get a head start on annoying vegetables since his squash was invading my yard last year. I got some of the crud on the other side of the driveway raked up, but not all, and about a third of the former rose pots dealt with. I bought two different kinds of pruners, and a new hose nozzle. I discovered that raspberry prickles go right through my gardening gloves. Somewhere, I have leather ones that I should find. My hands will be happy.

Saturday was the party, and most of the party appeared to be crispy fried. I know I was. I brought my red gown and worked more on the seam. At the rate I'm going, I may finish this during my lifetime.

I did not do a load of dishes. Nor did I do any laundry. I bought generic Claritin, and was amazed at both the price, and the substantial lack of any noticable effect *sniff*. I did the calligraphy on the scroll I have for Coronet, which really ought to be a rock, but won't be. I heeded the advice of someone on the scribe's list who said to make sure that your hand is in front of your shoulder rather than your chest, and was in much much less pain than ususal.

It appears that the ongoing attempt to repair the broken water cooler thingy failed, since there was a tech type this morning installing a new one. The new one appears to provide two temperatures of filtered water--tepid and tepid. I will continue to walk halfway around the building if it means I can have cold water in my water bottle.

Saturday I had a nasty headache, so David rode up and around the lake and back, so that he could at least say he'd been out and expending energy and stuff. Went riding on Sunday, this time up to a different park than usual. Taft Park, which is at the corner of 62 and 77, has a nice little pond-y sort of thing. Some people fishing. Some people with dogs, including a very cute Corgi who had apparently been in swimming as most of him was wet. Lots of planes, not a lot of people out in general. No idea where they all were, probably at the Sprawl.

Lastly, today my boss handed me a $25 Supercertificate to Giftcertificates.com, because I spent a huge amount of time on Thursday and Friday dealing with a rather annoying customer and getting his issue resolved and stuff. Totally unexpected, and a nice thing. Now I get to decide about where I am going to spend it. :-)
