I had forgotten the negative ramifications of taking tetracycline. Can't take it less than 2 hours after eating, or less than 1 hour before eating. Can't have too much sun exposure. Can't have calcium, or indeed any dairy products at all, or vitamins, or a few other things that I forget, for at least 2 hours after taking it. Get to feel slightly ill after taking it until enough food has buffered it. Whee.

There was a reason for this, I'm sure.

More is done on the scroll for Coronet, that should be a rock but isn't. I mixed up a perfectly awful shade of something last night, which in some circles might be considered red but medievally would probably have been purple, and in the shell it looks hideous but next to the gold on the scroll actually looks pretty nifty. Period, even. It's true--gold will make anything look spiffy. Next up, blue. And then I should think of something to fill in the corners, otherwise I will have vast expanses of blue with nothing in them. The original has angels offering up crowns to the seated king, who is (I think) Charles the Bald. But crowns are probably not really appropriate here--it's not a vis/county or ducal scroll, after all. If I had a chance in hell of drawing angels that looked like anything I could have them offering beer or chips or such, just for silliness.

Marigold seeds were purchased and planted last night, in the box where the autumn crocuses are, because I didn't feel like looking at a box of dirt until July. I bought more veggie seeds and put them in the little peat thingys last night, so now both flats are full of warm happy seeds. The bell peppers I bought turned out to be a combination of different kinds (red, yellow, orange, and purple), so I hope all of them sprout. And I drew up plans for the final layout of pots and things. I think I may have to resort to plastic boxes just because the wooden ones are just way too expensive. It would cost me $200 just to buy planters, if I bought wood. Sigh. I didn't want to go with plastic again.

I bought pansies, although there weren't hardly any blue ones left, and Lyndale Garden Center has a lousy rose selection this year. Not to mention hideously expensive. I will have to go to Franks in pursuit of yellow roses, I suppose, or maybe Foam Teapot will have some left. They seemed to have a reasonable selection but they were $$$. The thought of the blueberries at Wally's is tempting me, although the amount of work required to dig them enough space in the rocks is daunting.

Ah, gardens. We should have bought the house with the garage that was wired for 220V, because they had sun and space to garden, although I think we would have had to sleep in the kitchen because all the bedrooms were microscopic.

I am not going to have anything nifty and new (and thus not electric blue) for Coronet, unless I get the scroll done in time to spend part of Thursday night and all of Friday night sewing. It's still possible, though. Hmmm. Argh.
