Jun. 25th, 2003 03:53 pmMostly just stiff this morning. Found out why I managed to look like I was leaving horribly late but was not, yesterday--when we had that power blip last week, Mikey reset my alarm clock but reset it somewhat later than it had been. All the clocks in the house are various chunks of time fast, but my clock was a whole half-hour fast.
It did not help me getting to work on time this morning, but that's because it took me forever just to stretch enough to be able to move easily. No cat this time, although she did come and stare at me for a while before wandering off.
Strung up the peas and a tomato or two. I'm out of stakes now--if I want more I will have to go shopping. And I ate the first cherry tomato. It was really really sweet and yummy, full of tomato-ey goodness (and seeds). The beets are not doing so well, I think because there are raspberries and some catnip blocking their light. The catnip gets removed to go up to Matthew's, since they have a cat now, so maybe I might have beets this summer.
Met with the designer from the construction company about the bathrooms. They will be pricey, but when they are done they will be spiffy and the walls will not be rotting out behind the poorly installed vinyl tub surround, the top of the sinks will not be six inches below my waist, the walls in the basement will not be icky 70s melamine panels, there will be a shower in the basement, an exhaust fan on the main floor, and no more ugly peachy-brown tile.
The driveway still needs to be dealt with. Feh.
Finished washing another Icelandic fleece last night, and now it's spread out to dry in the studio. I fully expect to see a cat on it, or evidence of a cat having been on it, when I get home. Soon, all the fleeces will be washed. Yay!
I need to figure out how to paint wrought-iron for a scroll assignment.
North Richfield, some of Edina and S. Minneapolis in the Penn/Lyndale/France area from 66th north apparently got hammered last night. Us, not much. Typical, really--that is apparently the area that usually gets hit pretty hard when there's ugly weather (except for the apartment in Bloomington that had the roof ripped off, a couple of years back).
