Oh Allah! Amar mathar upor bash poreche.
Aug. 25th, 2003 03:16 pmGood things and not quite so good things.
I have a bra to wear under my MoH dress. It is black. It is too small. I have another one which is also black but slightly less too small which will also work if I get a band extender for it. I am planning to look for a useable bra in a larger size tonight, just in case, but finding a bra in my size that does not show under that neckline is very very difficult, as it is a wide, square neckline. Feh.
The MoH dress is hemmed, to many snide comments about the quality of construction.
Flowers for the cake are done.
The designs and flavors for Sue's cake are decided upon.
Recipes have been selected.
Shopping lists have been created.
I still need to clean out the fridge. It was going well, then we went to Maggiano's last night and now there are many leftovers. And Sue gave me vegetables--her Chioggia beets are fine and big and happy, so she gave me some, including a white beet which appears to be a sport. Also a winter squash of indeterminate type although it looks like it may be a turban variety, lemon cucumbers, which are yellow and round, and peas. I still have beets, peppers, summer squash, leeks, potatoes, a couple of tomatoes, and onions left over from trips to the farmer's market, too. Plus the tomatoes and peppers that are ripening outside in the garden. And the baby eggplant. I am blessed with a surfeit of vegetables.
Tonight, shopping for the buttercream ingredients. The large batch uses 12 egg whites. Whole Foods sells jars of just egg whites. They are my friend. :-) Luckily I remembered BEFORE I made the icing that I shouldn't be using liqueur for the flavoring. Hopefully I'll have enough orange extract. I am also considering simmering orange peel in the sugar syrup that will go on the cake. Also I need a large piece of PVC or vinyl or something smooth that I can roll out fondant on. David suggested that we could make fetish wear out of it after I'm done playing with cakes. I suggested that perhaps hot pink wasn't a typical fetish color (my other pieces of candymaking PVC are bright pink). I suggested that the PVC will probably be dedicated to fondant.
Also tonight, hopefully, measuring and cutting out the tagboard templates for the ribbon embroidery. And maybe baking a test cake. And running a load of dishes. And laundry. And still getting to sleep on time.
No date was had on Saturday, due to improperly coordinated cycles. Grrr.
