I wore black today. Not because of what day it is, but because I am me. I managed to inadvertently coordinate most of my clothes with my underwear, which is black (except my bra, which is pink, in case anybody wanted to know), because that's the pair I grabbed. Well, the second pair I grabbed--the first pair was the other style, which I am sick of wearing. So I put them back and sorted through the drawer until I found one of today's preferred style, which also happened to be black. Then when I went to find socks, I did not want to wear white (I usually only wear white with trainers), and I grabbed three onceler socks, of three different colors, and sorted through the drawer (are we seeing a theme here?) until I found a match. Which also happened to be black. If I'd found a different match, I'd be wearing green or yellow socks, because the red ones and the purple ones are in the laundry pile. I was already planning on wearing the black jeans, because I hadn't worn them yet this week, and the first shirt I found in the closet that was work-appropriate, mine, and with short sleeves also happened to be black. So I figured since I was already wearing black socks I might as well wear the black loafers. It didn't hit me until I was actually in the car driving that I was wearing all black.

I also wore my freedom rings in my left ear, because my right is where the headset goes, and although in theory I am leashed to the Database From Hell, I suspect that I will end up on the phone if it gets busy, and chingly metal rings next to a headset is a Bad Idea. So my right ear has one of the pink triangles from the trip to Sandy Hook with Tom Limoncelli and his lovely SO Laura. We'd stopped at a Rite-Aid to get things to drink, and up at the register they had a small bin of rubbery plastic earrings in various combinations of about five geometric shapes and about five bright colors, including pink, for 3/$1. So Laura and I sorted through the bin (see, there it is again!) until we found three pairs, and promptly put ours in. Again, it didn't occur to me until somewhat later that I was wearing *freedom* rings, with all the various meaning that word encompasses.

Then I wondered if my co-workers would pick up on it. Cameron might. Nobody else really has before.

And this database is making my eyes hurt.
