Earlier in the week, my co-worker asked me if I was interested in sharing in some of the bounty from her FiL's apple trees. Of course I said Sure! So now I have a huge box of lovely Haralsons with which to play. There is also a lot of zucchini left from
ladybirdkiller's garden, so apple/zucchini bread may have to happen.
Painted the bathroom yesterday, did touch-ups today. I was going to tile the floor, but it is a gloriously lovely day and I just don't feel like spending it on my hands and knees laying tile. It can wait until the plumbing is in--I don't mind having it around the fixtures instead of under them.
I went to the farmer's market yesterday, and the guy from Bayfield had Honeycrisps. So I bought a bag. Expensive, but worth it. For those of you who have never experienced one, they are crisp, and juicy, and taste like fresh cider. Unfortunately they don't keep well--they get blandly sweet, and go soft. I also bought red potatoes (red all the way through, not just red-skinned) and blue potatoes, and chard, and beets, and pie pumpkins, and a little watermelon, and a chocolate babka from Breadsmith's. Mmmmm. Colored food.
My toe is turning funny colors, and it still hurts, though not nearly as much as it did the first day. This is a good thing. Laundry is laundering, the cats are sprawled in doorways and windows, and I should do something productive and outside, like work on one of my classes for Boar's Head. Hmmm.
