Little Blithering
Oct. 28th, 2003 04:24 pmStolen garden gnomes wait to go home.
In other news, the S&G concert last night rocked. Dinner at Cecil's (an actual deli), then the show. It's one thing to see a particular singer or duo or group in concert when it's the tour for their latest album, and there will in all likelihood be another tour when they come out with another album. It's quite another thing to go to a show that you never ever thought would happen, because the act split up before you were born and the people involved have had a fairly rocky relationship for almost the entire time you have been alive. And I was there. I could see them. They were singing for real. Wow.
As others have mentioned, they were joined briefly by Don and Phil Everly. I wish they would have done more, but apparently they were only going to do the four that they did. Which was cool anyway.
It was apparent that all of them are older than when they first started performing--there were high notes that just never happened--but the essential sound hasn't changed. Again, wow.
It's been raining on and off since yesterday, so driving has just sucked eggs. Cold, wet, half-snow half-rain ick.
Iniki and Autumn almost sniffed noses the other day. Koshka still hisses and growls.
I had my yearly review today. I still have a job--this is a good thing. Our stock continues to hover at just under $10, but just you wait. The day before the employee trading window opens, it will plummet. Not because I know anything, but because it always does shit like that.
