Beer and Muppets
Nov. 17th, 2003 11:49 amThat was last night. Well, I didn't have any beer, but then again I didn't need any beer, either. David had beer, and then there were Muppets.
This weekend I *should* have gotten a lot of things done. What I did get done: I exchanged the cabinet at Target (because the glass was broken on the first one). I bought fabric for curtains for the bathroom. I painted the towel rods. They might even be good to put up and not need another coat of paint, but I won't know that until tonight. I knitted a bunch. I washed the comforter. I threw stuff away. I bought a letter organizer and sorted mail. I cast on the body of the sweater, and discovered that I need smaller #6 circs. The one I bought is 29", and that's way too long. I thought I had a 16" but I cannot find it, so I will have to get a new pair. [And why do we call a circular needle in the plural? It's one needle. It has two ends.] I brought up another basketfull of bathroom stuff and put it in the new cabinet which did not have broken glass in the door.
What I did not do: Assemble the new cabinet--because when I opened the cardboard that the door was wrapped in, the glass was shattered. Not merely broken, but shattered. In little teeny pieces. It's going back to Target today and I don't know if I will get another one or just give up for now.
I did not do laundry. Or dishes. Or paint bathroom shelves, because the scrollwork really wants a spray can instead of a sponge brush (to my credit, I did make an attempt at painting bathroom shelves). I did not buy nifty eyelash yarns at Michael's (or, for that matter, anything else, although I *was* going to go buy dangly sparklies). I did not shrink-wrap the windows. I did not put away the hose which is lying sprawled across the driveway. I did not go get the hitch for the plow mounted.
And I don't really care. Well, I do, but not enough that it bothers me. So there.
