I am still sick. Bleh. With the flu, no less. It made an otherwise pleasant vacation less fun, what with the coughing and the needing to sleep and the outgooing and such. But there was family, and nifty loot, and deep-fried turkey (which was surprisingly good) and Movie, and harassing of felines and canines, and a minimum of electronic communication. And there was Corn Pudding. And Mushroom Gravy. And sweet potatoes. And mashed potatoes. And green beans. And sandwiches. And Ham. And cookies. And Pies beginning with P. And dressing (because it was not stuffed in anything, due to the deep-fried-ness of the poultry). And Traditional Spice Cookies, including the Traditional Scottie Dogs With Striped Sweaters (don't look at me, I did not bake them). And sleeping. And more sleeping. And socks. And lots of James Bond. And knitting. And more harassing of feline.
I reached the Point of Fusion on the sweater, and discovered that I don't have the page with the Instructions For Fusing included in my photocopied packet of instructions (which I photocopied myself, so as to facilitate using colored highlighter and suchlike). And where is this page? At home, in the instruction booklet. Feh. So I worked on the hat. I have to confer with the recipient of said hat, because I am not happy with the way the colors are working themselves out and I think I am going to rip out a bunch and start over.
After the holidays I am going on an actual planned diet. Basically what Mom told me I should be eating, some millions of years ago--no refined sugars, white flours, or fried things. Basically the South Beach Diet, which seems to be sensible and is not as weird as Atkins.
