I had part of a post about playing with dyestuffs and it went away. Feh.

Anyway.

The stupidity death of the week is the three teenagers who died of carbon monoxide poisoning in one of the caves in St. Paul. These caves were dug in the sandstone bluffs some 100-odd years ago to work as natural refrigerators, storing mostly beer and cheese. Recently some kids found rather a lot of gunpowder in one. Anyway. There were five kids, one is recovering, one managed to make it out and stumble a block to a local health clinic, and three are dead. To get to the cave, they had to pass by a sign memorializing two girls who died in the very same cave system, and a sign warning of the dangers of carbon monoxide poisoning. One of the survivors admitted this.

The city has tried to keep people out of the caves every way they know how, and short of having the police actively patrol 11 miles of cave-filled bluffs, 24/7, they've done everything they can. I have given up wondering how people can be so stupid, because, apparently, it's not terribly difficult.

No wonder I feel tired...

Things to do, things to do, many with deadlines.

I have a cake to decorate. Well, styrofoam dummies, really, but pretty much the same thing.
I have a scroll for Crown, because the combined lists are huge and I didn't want Medb stuck with a huge stack of scrolls.
I have to finish the purple dress so I have something to wear for Crown.
I have a smock to make, to wear under the purple dress.
I have a dress to alter, so it's finally really actually decent, rather than too short.
I have garden beds to set up.
I have compost bins to put together.
I have a house to straighten.
I have a jar of birch bark in water to attend to.
I have a mystery coolant leak to find.
I have laundry to do.
I have a kitchen to clean.
I have a co-worker to not murder.

And this doesn't even begin to cover the social obligations.
