O Zot! Kam sakice ne koke!
Aug. 13th, 2004 09:50 amI'd gotten to the first Maltese translation, and then they go and add more...
I made chunk sweet pickles last night for the brother-in-law (who eats them by the quart if you let him), and half of them did not seal. I am annoyed. They'll probably be ok, given that the liquid portion of the "brine" is entirely vinegar, and there's also a huge amount of sugar. Nothing is likely to survive. Still, it's annoying.
On a positive pickly note, I discovered that I'd packed an entire box full of pint jars of pickled things, including pickle relish, so I have at least one jar. I'd thought I was completely out, and when I used all the cucumbers to do the sweet pickles I was concerned that I'd have to go buy more. But I did get green and red peppers and onions already, so maybe I'll just think of something to do with them that isn't pickle relish.
I have started reading my math textbook. The less said about that, the better.
The cats are very furry. And purry. And sharp.
And, over lunch I drive back to Richfield to the post office, because they changed their will-call hours to 9:00-9:30 a.m. and 5:---5:30 p.m. and I couldn't get my package this morning. I am fairly sure it's my book, because it's from Germany, and that's the only thing I know of that would be coming to me from Germany.
And yes, this hurt to type, but hunt-and-peck was getting frustrating and hard on my neck. Sigh.
