Ya tuhanku! Ada kapak dalam kepalaku!
Oct. 14th, 2004 11:22 amI have trim to attach to my sleeve cuffs, and that is all. Well, and find garters. And pack. And figure out and acquire and pack a lunch.
But everything else is done. Except a band of trim on E's surcoat that nobody will notice is missing, because they will all be looking at the belt anyway.
But I have a new dress that is completely hand-sewn*. And I have shoes which are not. And hosen which are. And a nifty belt. And a surcoat. And a smock, which is also completely hand-sewn, and by coincidence is also yellow. And a veil. And a wimple. And a brooch.
I still have a quiz tonight, but that's ok, I might actually know some of the answers this time.
*Lest anyone start wondering "How can she manage hand-sewing when she couldn't manage to finish the embroidery she volunteered to do?", I will point out that I spent the last couple weeks of July and pretty much the entire month of August with my hands in my lap, hoping they would heal enough to make the pain go away. Which it did not entirely do. The dress was started well after the date the embroidery need to be finished by, when my hands finally stopped hurting. The hosen were not sewn by me. The smock was sewn by me, partially finished, then tossed in a giant pile of *things* in my sewing room for what turned out to be a Very Long Time, thus, the only actual work done on the smock in this calendar year was cutting and hemming the sleeves.
*sigh*
I really did want to finish the dratted embroidery, too.
