Class stuff. SCA stuff. Other stuff.
I had thought I wanted to be the next Nordskogen MOAS--I could hardly miss more meetings than Adela does. But, the whole point of me doing that would be to do a better job of actually being around, and if I have to take a Wednesday class in the spring, those good intentions go right out the window. Sigh. At least I have no actual SCA projects due this week, although I do need to wash the smock.
[For some reason, PFY2 is overly enamored of White Castle. *shudder*]
I am debating next semester. Registration isn't open until November, so I've got a little time to decide. I am taking the next Java class, and then I need to either take Discrete Mathematics, which is a co-req, or Criminal Justice 101, which is a pre-req for several of the CJ classes I'll be taking. ICS 141 on Tuesdays, and then either Math or CJS on Thursdays. Except that I fall asleep during math lectures, which is ordinarily considered a Bad Thing. so probably CJS, which sounds more interesting anyway.
Today, cleaning fairies. And possibly creation of curtains. I have four sets of two full-length curtains and a valance that need to be sewn together so that I only need one curtain rod for the whole shebang. Actually what I have is six curtains and one window scarf which is the same width and slightly longer than two curtains, which will be cut in half and used as curtains. The valance will be what shows up at the top anyway, so I'm not really worried.
Someday the walls in the living room will be painted. I'm thinking either a nice caramel gold with a sage green faux finish, or something along those lines. Maybe if I can incorporate a wine-red into it as well....
I've looked into techniques for painting paneling. So far they mostly agree with what I already figured I was going to do--wash with TSP, degloss (which isn't really needed, I think), and then stain-blocking primer. And then some very light shade of purple, and then stripes. Well, they don't agree with the stripes, but I wasn't looking for affirmation there. And I've decided that it will definitely be GITD paint rather than stars, if it's going on the ceiling. If I decide that I'm going to paint the walls like a landscape, then I can put GITD stars on it. If I can find them ever again.
