Richard Lovelace (1618-1658)
Tell me not, Sweet, I am unkind,
That from the nunnery
Of thy chaste breast and quiet mind
To war and arms I fly.
True, a new mistress now I chase,
The first foe in the field;
And with a stronger faith embrace
A sword, a horse, a shield.
Yet this inconstancy is such
As thou, too, shalt adore;
I could not love thee, Dear, so much,
Loved I not Honor more.
Tell me not, Sweet, I am unkind,
That from the nunnery
Of thy chaste breast and quiet mind
To war and arms I fly.
True, a new mistress now I chase,
The first foe in the field;
And with a stronger faith embrace
A sword, a horse, a shield.
Yet this inconstancy is such
As thou, too, shalt adore;
I could not love thee, Dear, so much,
Loved I not Honor more.

Aug. 12th, 2005 08:39 pmMuch of the fabric is now off the floor and on a shelf. There needs to be more shelvage, but I am taking a break and writing an LJ entry first. And I need to figure out what I am doing with the wood from the old shelves. It will burn wonderfully, being dry pine. Anybody want a bunch of nicely seasoned 1"x12" with nails in it?
I tend to forget what fabric I have until I go through it. Wow, do I have a lot of fabric. Granted, some of it is completely mundane, but there's still quite a bit.
I waited too long to buy wool on sale. Now it is no longer on sale. This was planned. :-)
I came back from lunch with a headache. I still have a headache. *sighs* And yes, I took drugs for it. I should probably take more.
They set Knight up in my old cube, I think because it's the one with the pillar in it. Got MIS to set up the phone and network, too. I work with 15-year-old boys, I do. There are plans to be in very early Monday morning to see his reaction.
There hasn't been nearly enough bourbon this week. Actually, there hasn't been any bourbon, and that must be remedied.
Saw E off, or, rather, left before they got on the road, but did bid him a fond farewell. This will be...odd. I'm used to at least talking to him daily, it's something that's always there. Except when he's at Pennsic and I'm not.
And, there is a cat. In the studio. It's a different cat than the one on the living room floor. She has two eyes, and the normal number of toes, for instance. No name yet (and no, T, we are not calling her Spazbot!), but she'll have one soon enough.
