"Can you hear the people sing..."
Feb. 13th, 2006 01:51 pmI am exceedingly poufy today. More braids than usual last night--I was inspired.
Went to see Les Mis yesterday with
belmikey and other people whose LJ names I cannot spell off the top of my head. The lines that got left out were generally compensated for by the strength of the production. *snif* Alas, I should have brought tissues, or snagged some from the women's room during intermission.

My own personal comments, besides the twitch about lines being cut unneccessarily, and words occasionally being rearranged: Marius was a teeny bit reedy sotto voce. Jean Valjean was phenomenal. Wow. Other people complained that the Thenardier's weren't played up as comic relief as much as they should, but having heard the London recording several times now, and having read the book, I prefer the more sinister treatment. But that's just me.
And I want Javert's coat. And Jean Valjean's coat. I already have Marius's coat, and mine's prettier. *grins*
Also,
sheherazahde is an evil enabling woman. OTOH I will have clothes to wear to the wedding, which is a good thing.
( And a meme... )
