Oh, fine.

Go to Wikipedia and look up your birth day (excluding the year). List 3 neat facts, 2 births and 1 death in your journal, including the year.

  • 845 - Paris is sacked by Viking raiders, probably under Ragnar Lodbrok, who collects a huge ransom in exchange for leaving.

  • 1942 - World War II: In occupied France, British naval forces raid the German-occupied port of St. Nazaire.

  • 1979 - In Pennsylvania, a pump in the reactor cooling system fails at Three Mile Island, resulting in the evaporation of some contaminated water causing a nuclear meltdown.

  • 1496 - Mary Tudor, queen of Louis XII of France (d. 1533)
  • 1515 - Saint Teresa of Avila, Spanish Carmelite nun and poet (d. 1582)

  • 1987 - Patrick Troughton, British actor (b. 1920)

    (no subject)

My support gloves finally showed up. Yay!!!

This weekend there will be housecleaning, in the spirit of which I am turfing out a number of things that I just don't use. I'll post a list.

And apparently the solution to loud obnoxious people is to take away their coffee: http://community.livejournal.com/metaquotes/4935989.html This explains an awful lot. I will have to remember this for the next trip to England, when it is highly likely we will again be mistaken for Canadians.
