And back!!
May. 8th, 2007 09:41 amE and I returned yesterday, mostly because we had to. It was a nifty trip. I briefly considered doing a post for each day, but that kind of depends on E lending me his notes because there is no way I am going to remember details. We shall see.
Regarding photography: We shot a total of 39.X rolls of 36-exp slide film, plus about 15 or so random shots on a cheapie 35mm camera that I bought for goofy stuff that we didn't necessarily want to waste slide film on. Doing the math, being 39.5 x 36, that gives us about 1440 frames of film.
In the absence of more detailed posts, if you've got a question, ask here and I shall endeavor to answer.
Castles: Conisbrough, Richmond, Middleham, Bolton, Clifford's Tower, Lincoln, Castle Rising, Kirby Hill/Ravensworth.
Cathedrals: Ripon, York Minster, Lincoln, Ely
[Oops! So much stuff to remember I forget the abbeys!]
Abbeys: Fountains, Rievaulx, Egglestone
Lots of parish churches, including the one in Little Canfield, the home of the coffer of which I have a 70% recreation.
Miscellaneous: Yorkshire Castle Museum, the Shambles, and a section of the City Wall; the Bishop's Palace, the Norman House, and the Jew's House in Lincoln; lots and lots of baaaaaby bunnies and sheep and cows.
