Ouch.
I took the car in last night, to deal with that squeaking in the front.
New brakes = New rotors. New calipers. New brake pads. New *tires*, because the front two were almost worn through. This would explain the front-end shimmy I was seeing. Total: $612. Ouch.
OTOH, it's still less than a new car or a hospital stay.
