I have discovered a new unit of measurement, which I will refer to as the "Margaret-ell". Basically, my right hand holding the fabric to the point of my left shoulder. It's 38", which is an acceptable deviation for rough measurements. I've actually been using this unit for a while now, I just now decided that it needed a name, and then I measured it so I'd have a vague idea of actual numbers.

Project Yellow II is 5 yards, 10", or 5 Margaret-ells. And fuzzy.

And since we're talking about ells, some culture for y'all.

"M-ell"? for short?

What is the measure of a man? Would he fib?

I've found that one may also use as a measure the length of extension cord that stretches from an appliance to the end of one's reach. This concept shocked me with its uselessness.

It's an electric ell.
