Things and stuff and nonsense.

Thursday: Tabs! I have tabs! Put tabs on truck. Legality is a Good Thing. Because driving on expired tabs through foreign states on a holiday weekend is such a good idea, you know.
Friday: Slept in, because I did not sleep well at all Thursday night. Decided to rip out leg hair before leaving. Packed. Fed truck. On the road at noon, almost exactly. Around Cannon Falls, decided that it was too damn hot to be wearing the t-shirt I was wearing. Stopped in Rochester to visit Target to obtain lighter clothing, and found a tank that goes nicely with the reversible skirt for which there are no coordinating tops. And a sports shell sort of thingy which is raspberry pink. Why the fashion industry insists on calling that color raspberry, when raspberries are not in any way that color, is beyond my ken. Anyway. Stopped in Madison for food, custard, and book shopping. Bought Seafort books for Dad, a book on Chartres cathedral sculpture for me, and a book on the buildings of Linconshire for the spring trip. Got in about 8:30, met the new dog. Watched the last half of JAG, in which we discover that it is actually possible to land a C-130 on the deck of an aircraft carrier (yes, this was really done, back in 1963 the Navy tried it as an experiment to extend the range of the carriers). Gave Dad books. Dad already bought some of them because he's a dork. 'Sokay, Mikey will read them.
Saturday: Moved furniture. Found out that the stove wouldn't fit in the truck. Found other things that *did* fit in the truck. Found things that need to be dealt with somehow but are extremely heavy. Hung out with parent and worked on embroidery. Had conversation with dog about appropriate placement of doggie noses, and if he does that again I'm sticking him in the nose with my needle. Dog seemed to comprehend, especially after discovering that end of needle is pointy. Went to dinner at hoity-toity (but tasty) pasta place. Went to movie with friends S and P. Saw Spidey 2, with one complaint--the film broke. During the last fifteen-odd minutes. During the explosions. Three times. Aaaaaigh! So I'll have to see it again, because there are bits that got missed. Feh. Went to bar as P claimed he needed alcohol to remove the bad taste in his mouth left when Spiderman survived the movie (yeah, P's a bit on the odd side). Had Irish cider and lovely conversation. Fled bar when some idiot put Garth Brooks on the juke box. Literally. We practically ran out of the building.
Sunday: Visited with friends and podlings. Lunch, conversation, fishies, flirting parrots named Felix (no, didn't want to try and explain why that was funny, too complicated). Then home and fireworks. Lots of fireworks. Everybody else's, then ours. Loud noises and sparklies and colors and stuff. I got about half of the trim sewn down to the neck of E's tunic before the sun went down and there was no longer enough light.
Monday: Took pictures of cat and of dog. Played fetch with dog. Dog likes playing fetch, but he has a hard time dropping the fetched item so it can be flung again. Left at about 11:30, which was rather later than I'd wanted to leave, but, hey, these things happen. Stopped in Madison for more custard. Got home ~7:15 or so, chatted with stepdaughter, chatted with husband, chatted with Yak, went to bed.
Tuesday: Raining. Hurt. Head hurt. Throat hurt. Ears hurt. Hands hurt. A lot. Called in sick. Sat around a lot because hands hurt. Straightened up a little. Visited with E. Started flagging interesting towns in Linconshire book. Petted kitties. Scheduled eye surgery for the 28th. Helped stepdaughter cook dinner by locating ingredients and staying out of the kitchen.
Tonight I need to finish E's tunic, which is going to hurt. Feh.
