Peanut butter sandwiches I have known...

Because it came up in conversation, and it sort of balances out the speculum discussion. But not really.

on Sullivan Street has good stuph. I used to stop by there after picking up comic books on Wednesdays. Or after having a haircut on Thompson Street.

See, this is one of the things I Like about Noo Yawk. Only there can one find a restaurant dedicated to peanut butter...

...that and the fact that, in New York, it is not only acceptable but proper to become indignant with the management of any restaurant that chooses to close before 11pm.

PB & Co is a titch overpriced, even for NYC, but they're a clearinghouse for all of the old-fashioned candy & soda that's been reissued lately. I think it's on the same block as the two chess set shops across the street from one another. Only in New York.

We used to sing a song when I was in grade school and the chorus was "Jam and jelly, peanut-butter, sliced bananna sandwich!" repeated over and over. Except for the bananas, it always sounded good to me. :-)

Personally, I'm fond of peanut-butter & butter (a bit of sweet cream to balance the salty/savory peanut butter) and a "reeses" - peanut butter and hershey's syrup/nestle quick powder and whipped cream.
