There are actually legitimate reasons, btw, for our not owning a microwave, other than Pixel's general aversion to them :-) There really isn't any good space in our kitchen for one (no, not even an under-the-cabinets sort).
I myself try to use the thing as little as possible...only if I forget to (or can't) put the squash/sweet potatoes/etc. in at the same time as the main dish. Don't need it for hot water - we have a water bottle thing AND a tea kettle.
Jeff thinks i'm batty, but, then, he should know.... ;)
