Gah.

I have been on this call for one hour and fifteen minutes, trying to carve a munged driver out of the customer's W2K system, and it isn't working. AT ALL.

Fuck.

Fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck.

Where's a cold-chisel when you need one?

[Edit update: Boy, this system is fucked. FFR time. No, I haven't been on the call all afternoon. It just felt like it.]

For the customer?

No, he's being really cool about all of it. The cold-chisel is a Cad saying "When all else fails, use a cold-chisel."

And I'm thinking of applying it to the OS. It would make me feel better. I almost wish he'd just FFR the damn thing and be done with it.

*grins* I understand that logic. Way too well.

On the plus side, he did laugh when I asked him if he had a chicken to wave over the server.

One chisel, coming up:

(It may not be helpful immediately, but the concept is simply staggering...pointless, but staggering)

There's a lot of stuff like that out there--staggering, yet pointless.
