Hmmm.

I have noticed, recently, that white people with dreadlocks look like Icelandic sheep, but without the horns. I think the sheep are cuter, really, and much more useful. And you know that if I said that out loud in the presence of any of the aforementioned funny-looking white people, they'd get their panties all twisted about it.

I have cooked fifty pounds of chicken today, set fifty pounds of pork butt to marinate, and reduced approximately a pound of dried mission figs to teeny pieces. Tomorrow, more fig processing. And the same happens to the raisins, and hopefully the pork will get cooked, and the chicken shredded. I am not going to want to have anything to do with food by the time this is all over, which I suppose is a good way to lose weight.

And, DiGiorno deep dish frozen pizza (which is really more of a stuffed pizza) isn't bad, but doesn't reheat well. And they don't make one with mushrooms, but luckily that can be fixed by adding a can of them to the top. Mmmmmm. Mushrooms.

I am too exhausted to play with my zoo. Ah, well. The tigers will have to wait.

Garlic. Mmmmm.

One of the ingredients for the pork marinade is garlic. So I stopped by Cub while we were out to breakfast yesterday to pick up a vat of minced garlic, and there was a woman in front of the shelf looking confusedly at the various jars (you can get roasted minced garlic in jars, now, too). When I grabbed the vat, she asked if I knew how to make garlic bread. So, being the nice helpful person that I am, I pointed her at the spice aisle and recommended the garlic spreads that they sell for that very purpose.

Why me? Do I look harmless or something? Or is it that I'm usually buying the really esoteric stuff, and people figure I know what I'm doing with it? I will concede I got some strange looks on Friday when I bought the meat.
