Good lord, but I've been lax.
Dec. 30th, 2002 04:55 pmWow, but I've been busy. That, and for a while there wasn't a machine to use, since someone had electronics strewn across the basement during an upgrade.
I'd thought, earlier today, that I had tomorrow off. Last year, this was the case. This year, HR decided to screw us out of our holiday and gave it to us as a floating holiday. So, tomorrow I should, in theory, be at work.
Except that earlier, while I was still thinking that I had tomorrow off, I started to feel that tickle in the back of my throat and ears that usually indicates something nasty. Along the lines of "Great. I have a day off, and I have to spend it sick."
Now I'll just be home sick. Phooey. And if I'm sick, I really can't justify tripping out to parties and such, even if I am only there briefly. (Nor should I be doing feast stuff, but that's a whole 'nother issue.) This is not fair. I am too old to be sick on major holidays. And there are FIVE parties to which I could go, even though I wouldn't be likely to go to more than three of them.
Anyway. Saw Two Towers on Christmas Day, and I continue to be not shocked, appalled, and horrified by how Jackson is doing things. Granted, he's been cheating by having incredible locations, but even accounting for that, it's still tolerable. I would have done things differently, but then so would everyone else. So I shan't complain. Except maybe about the dwarf-throwing joke.
Mikey bought the 4-DVD set, so David and I have been watching the extras discs. Neat stuff there. I suppose if I am sick, I can curl up in the basement with lots of blankets, hot tea, and cats, and watch the augmented movie. Or more Cowboy Bebop. Either will do, really.
