String memeage...
1. Total amount of stash: Stash of what? Yarn? Proto-yarn? Proto-incipient yarn? String? I have a sweater's worth of dark blue Lamb's Pride worsted and one skein of dark red to accent it (it's for a Wallaby, someday). Random skeins of Lamb's Pride Bulky in white, red, dark blue, various shades of gray. One half-finished sock and the rest of the skein of Lamb's Pride worsted in bright pink. A sock and a partially-finished sock in Jo Sharp grey and dark blue. A few skeins of this lovely heathery stuff, two different purples--kind of a lilac-y and kind of a mulberry-y. I think there's some eyelash hiding somewhere. A couple of random partial skeins of Wool-Ease. I haven't really perused my purchased yarn stash recently, because I haven't been knitting. There's a whole bin of various sorts of roving--lots of merino in white, orchid, and some other shade of purple intended someday to be a sweater when I learn how to spin bulky. Some brown, some gray, some white of unknown provenance. Some indigo-dyed of that white and that gray. The aforementioned Shetland. A bunch of skeins of the cobalt blue Coopworth, and a bunch of skeins of the brown-and-white plied stuff, both having vague destinies of a hat and a vest, respectively. Other random skeins of my handspun, some of which are dye samples and some of which are not. A bunch of Caron cotton, or something along those lines. Some crochet cotton. Cones of Harrisville Shetland, in blue, yellow, white, black, and I think green. A cone each of 60/2 white silk and 30/2 white silk. A spool of 60/2 black silk. Mini-cones of Halcyon Yarn's Gemstone silk in four colors, only one of which I can actually find, a fact which bugs the ever-living hell out of me. And there's some amount of handspun on bobbins and spindles that's going to be a hood someday.
2. Last yarn I bought: Technically, the last yarn I bought was the Wicked Stepdaughter's holiday present, and all I remember is that she bought something with which to make socks.
3. Last yarn I worked with: Either the stuff that I am spinning from some Shetland roving, in a couple of different shades of gray, or the indigo-dyed 30/2 silk that is becoming tablet-weaving (and crocking something awful--apparently it didn't get rinsed well enough].
4. Five yarns I work with frequently or would like to work with: Lately I've been spinning and weaving (tablet) more than knitting, but, let me think. I am very fond of Lamb's Pride, and then there was this nifty mohair and sparkly metallic stuff that I made hat/scarf sets out of for the MiL and the Sibling. I have some TW with the Harrisville Shetland, and then there's the indigo silk that will become garters. And the gray Shetlands that I'm spinning.
