The Cubs are 3-2 against the Marlins. I'm not sure I'm emotionally prepared for them to actually make it to the World Series.

We could see a battle of the curses! The Cubs, of course, haven't won a Series since 1908; the Sox since 1918...

I can see a Cubs/Sox series, tied at 3 games apiece, with even scores at the bottom of the sixth, when the mother ship comes to take both teams away, and Rod Serling takes over the announcer booth.

I'm just fine with the Cubbies in the Series. The Red Sox, on the other hand.. *shudder*.

Of course, a Cubs-Yankees series would seriously divide my loyalties. I think I'd have to side with the Cubs, though. They Yankees, while a good ball team, have had many days in the sun. It's time to let the boys from the Windy City shine a bit.

Didn't I see a tabloid the other day saying, in 72 point type, that the "Experts Agree End Days Start(ed) October 4th"? FYI, October 5th was the day that the Cubbies won against Atlanta (moving them into the playoffs), and the day the Yankee's beat Minnesota (ditto). And that was about the time all those beetles-that-look-like-ladybugs descended on Illinois. Coincidence?

And IMHO, a Cubbies-Sox match would be a great, feel-good kinda time, both of them so surprised by the fact that either of them is there. A Cubbies-Yankees matchup would be a Rebels vs. the Empire kind of series :) Not that I'm a sports fan or anything...
