Ok, now I'm confused. I thought blended whiskeys were on principal *bad* and single-malts were *good*. This article is saying that they're not going to make the blended whisky anymore. But this is a *bad* thing? Was this an especially good blended whisky or somesuch?
Diageo, heee. I did a gig for them a long time ago.
Ummm, without the link I was thinking that something had happened along the lines of you being killed in a car accident or something, but if you want to make the case that the loss of Cardhu is *more* worrying, don't let me stop you.
I have no idea who you are, but if you're ever in need of an twin... Laphraoig, daily mochas, sca, a public identity as a squirrel... it could work. pixel39 must collect them. Er. Us.
Now I have to find a bottle or two of this stuff before it's all gone.
I'm not sure why folks were so worried about your post, though. I've seen you in actual distress a few times, and you don't tend to be all that loud about it.
Not to diminish the significance of this, of course, since Scotch & Port are about the only things I drink these days. At least now I have some idea of what to get you for Christmas...
No.....More.....Cardhu??? No more of it's single malty goodiness.....AAAAUUUUGGGGHHHHH!!!!!! *sound of head danging on wall* We will have to have a going away party. On a side note, try Isle of Jura. The ten year is a very precosious offering, and 16 year old is better( in my opinion) than some older offerings from other label names.
Jura has lately been my house scotch. Has been fairly consistently since I stopped being able to regularly find Dalwhinnie. Oban is a close second, though..
On the note of a going away party, I do believe Cardhu has just become my drink of choice for Gulf Wars. Especially on St. Patty's day.. *grin*
On St. Padraig's Day, you should probably be drinking Tullamore Dew!
Anyway, as long as I can still hop over to Knockando and get another bottle of Cardhu's 27-year cask strength malt when the bottle I have is gone, I worry much less about broad availability of their 12-year, fine stuff though it is. (Any of you who come visit may try that and the other astonishingly good items that came back from Scotland with me.)

Meantime... I hope http://www.globalwhiskyshop.com/ can provide it. If not, they have other fun malts to try.
