Sigh.

I had a doughnut today. It had German's Chocolate Cake frosting on it (coconut, pecans, and goo, yay!). It was necessary, because I was in at 7am having dropped Mikey at the airport at 6:45-ish. I was running later than I'd intended and did not manage to grab anything that was breakfast-related, partially because doing so would have involved disconnecting the dishwasher and moving it back to where it belongs, thenfinding something for breakfast, and Mikey had wanted to be at the airport a bit earlier than when we actually left.

Grrrr. But I am hoping that the carbs contained in said doughnut were actually burned, given that I didn't have anything else to eat except an ounce of peanuts. *crosses fingers*

I should have had breakfast at the cafeteria, but I wasn't thinking. Low blood sugar, I suppose.

*sigh*

I will have to be very very good over the weekend, and all of next week, then. This is helped by the knowledge that I can make custard-like sorts of things with eggs and ricotta (very period, really!) and Splenda and it will be good.

And now it's time to go to lunch.

My "Honey Dew" donuts on Sunday on the way back from Boston were very unsatisfying. Age and I both looked at each other when we passed the very next rest area, really no more than ten miles further along the Mass Pike, and it had a Dunkin Donuts. So did the one after that.

I managed to resist the impulse to stop at Subway or Burger King for an eggy breakfast sandwich on the way from WVBR to my office this morning.

Of course, I'm now seeing that Quaker Instant Grits is even higher in carbs than Quaker Instant Oatmeal, without the fun fiber benefit. Ah well. At least it won't be bad cholesterol-wise, as the breakfast sandwich would've been.

Dietary cholesterol doesn't necessarily translate into blood cholesterol, you know.

I will actually get to grocery shop on the way home tonight, so hopefully my diet-adherence will be more well-behaved.

I know, I keep trying to tell my doctor that. :-)

But fewer greasy meals has to be better for me. Right?

Yah...and next time, we'll have to definitely get in gear earlier, no excuses. Humphrey Terminal turns out to be an absolute zoo at 0630 -- apparently, all of SunCountry's flights leave early in the morning! I barely made my flight, despite getting there an hour early.
